Thanksgiving has come and gone...
and Christmas is fastly approaching. Have I bought any gifts? Have I even put up my tree yet? Nope to both! Its only December 2nd. I know, I know that tree should have been put up right after Thanksgiving. My momma calls me a scrooge because I don't put my tree up early. Why would I want to look at that tree for any longer than I have too. The bigger question is what in heck to get Kelly for Christmas. I will definitely get him something OSU (Oklahoma State University). Has anyone asked me what I wanted? Of course not. It doesn't really matter what I want. ALL I'VE EVER WANTED WAS A BIG KITCHEN AID MIXER. I have been asking for one for the past 6 years!
Dear Santa,
I have been the bestest girl ever. Please have Rudolph deliver me my Kitchen Aid mixer this year. I have so deserve it. Just think how many baked goods I could whip out with that mixer!!!
Love,
Soreeta

Oh wedding cupcakes!

Anyone that knows me, pretty much knows that I HEART CUPCAKES! So when I asked to do some wedding cupcakes, of course I jumped at the chance! Why wouldn't I. Alison who is the spunky oldest daughter of my co-worker Susan asked me to do some cupcakes for her wedding instead of a wedding cake. I had made Alison a Hello Kitty cake for her 26th birthday (at least I think it was her 26th birthday). She enjoyed the Hello Kitty cake so much that she asked me do cupcakes for her wedding, I was totally honored. Now I'm not the best cake decorator but I can make some mean cupcakes. What people tend to forget its really about the cake and not necessarily the frosting. Now I have has some great cake and some great frosting in my life time but I have also had the most nastiest cake and the super nastiest frosting. So I thought to myself I can so make a good cake and some pretty damn fantastic frosting too! Not to toot my own horn, but I can since this is my blog, ha! Anyway this is what I created for Alison's wedding. I made chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter buttercream (let me just tell you that peanut butter buttercream was the biz-omb!), vanilla cupcakes with strawberry buttercream (uh the strawberry buttercream was so good it made you want to slap your momma, I'm not kidding. Even though I love my momma dearly and I would never in a million years slap her because if I did you wouldn't be reading this!) and vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream (which the vanilla leaves nothing to the imagination because its VANILLA). I was even invited to attend the wedding which was the most intimate affair that I have ever attend so thanks Alison! I had a blast, and I really enjoyed my Parmesan crusted tilapia!

September means......

Football, football, football. I heart football, whether its college or pro. My nephew is a Junior at Tulsa Union. Its one of those big power house football teams like you see on tv, like the show Friday Night Lights. I have gone to see my nephew a couple of times. I always warn my kids that mommy is a football cheering fool. I get it from my momma! No seriously. We grew up watching the Dallas Cowboys. When I got married my husband and I had to move in with my parents. Not a problem right? Well lets just say they all ruined pro football for me for a long time. I'm just now getting over it! My husband is a big time Steelers fan. We all know Cowboys+Steelers=Bad blood!!!! I have to give my props to my younger nephew Cassius. He also is a football player. Unfortunately for my my son is a basketball player. Not that I don't love basketball, I do. I truly do but we are in football season. Oh but I can't forget about baseball either.....Go Yankees! Oh by the way my momma is the biggest football fan ever! That's I posted her picture 2 times!

You know how....
God brings people into our lives? Well this has happened to me (it happens from time to time but this one is really special). I have a friend, LRD (I will protect her identity because she doesn't know I'm blogging about this but I will let her know) who like many of us are suffering in someway fashion or another. I could tell that she was really down in the dumps. I could feel it whenever I spoke to her and I could read in her emails to me. Well a few weeks back I noticed a chance with my friend. A positive change. I mean this girl just exuded happiness. So I'm like I'm really glad that she seems to be doing well. Shortly after that she started her own business as a Mary Kay independent consultant. Now this is were I discover what's really going on.
She was telling me about her director and what an awesome woman she is. She's just great, etc..... I know most are skeptical when someone says that. So I'm like okay, whoever this woman is obviously has done thing because my friend has a new attitude and a new lease on life, she can't be too bad right? Well my friend asked me to help her out with a conference call with her director. I was like sure I love my friend and I want her to succeed so I will do. So here I am being a good friend and signing in to do this conference call. My friend is on the line along with another friend of hers. So were are chatting away waiting on her director to get on the phone. The director gets on the line and she says her name is Joan and welcome to the conference call.
Okay, normally I don't have feelings like this but once Joan opened her mouth and told us her story and how she got into the business and how God came into her life. I was like okay cool. The thing is the way she spoke about her life and her journey, it peaked my interests. The more she spoke I started to think to myself, hey this chick is really cool. She seems sweet and she definitely knows what she's talking about. Anyway the conference call concluded and she thanked me and another girl on the call for helping our friend out by listening to her. I thought to myself wow now I see why my friend is drawn to her. That was last Wednesday night.
Saturday morning I'm doing my laundry and I noticed I had a missed call on my cell so I check my voicemail, low and behold its Joan. Joan's calling to thank me for listening and being there for my friend and following up to see if I needed anything. So Joan and I started talking. At first it was about Mary Kay but then the conversation went to friend who introduced me to Joan in the first place. I had to let Joan what an impact she has had on my friends life. I told her about the changes that I've noticed and she told me how the two of those met. It was another case of when God brings people into life situation. The more I talked to Joan the more I was drawn to her in a spiritual sense. It was one of the most awesome phone conversations that I've ever had! She and I are alike in a bunch of ways. I mean I was all goose pimply and every thing! JOAN IS FREAKIN AWESOME!!! I felt like I had known her all of my life! I felt that she came into my friends life as basically a gift from God! In return my friend introduce Joan to me as a gift from God from her! So I want to thank my friend for bringing Joan into my life. Thanks LRD.

I just need to vent!!!
Normally I don't take to my blog to vent but today I just can't help myself!!! Just to give you a little back ground, my husband found something on the internet. Thing is this item wasn't available in our town but in a friend of his. We live in the same state but only a couple of hours away. So long story short, his friend bought the item and my husband sent him the money. Okay this is were my venting really starts to come in. His friend's wife suggested that she send the item to me at my job. Not a problem right? Well they want to send it to me but send it C.O.D. (cash on delivery)! Who does this? Especially to a friend! How tight can you possibly be? My husband friend mind you has no kids (unless you count their dog) and spends boo-koos amount of money playing golf every weekend to some pretty fancy smancy golf courses but you can't spend $3 to send one stinkin little item that's smaller than a Blackberry!

Look at what's growing in my back yard...

Okay there's a little bitty flower bed in the corner of my back yard. When we first moved into the house it just looked like a bunch of weeds. We decided that we were going to pull them but just got to lazy and forgot about it. Luckily we didn't do anything because we would have missed this wonderful creation!
