Happy Birthday KJ

Today marks my beautiful son's 15th birthday! Happy birthday KJ!

Feeling Blue

Have you ever just felt blue? I discovered this weekend that my life wasn't what I thought it was. It turns out its a lot more complicated than I thought. I'm like uh....what just happened? I'm sad, scared and lonely. 3 things that I never thought would ever feel especially since I'm married with children. I will be fine once I can began to navigate what has become my life. I shall keep you posted....

Thanksgiving has come and gone...

and Christmas is fastly approaching. Have I bought any gifts? Have I even put up my tree yet? Nope to both! Its only December 2nd. I know, I know that tree should have been put up right after Thanksgiving. My momma calls me a scrooge because I don't put my tree up early. Why would I want to look at that tree for any longer than I have too. The bigger question is what in heck to get Kelly for Christmas. I will definitely get him something OSU (Oklahoma State University). Has anyone asked me what I wanted? Of course not. It doesn't really matter what I want. ALL I'VE EVER WANTED WAS A BIG KITCHEN AID MIXER. I have been asking for one for the past 6 years!

Dear Santa,
I have been the bestest girl ever. Please have Rudolph deliver me my Kitchen Aid mixer this year. I have so deserve it. Just think how many baked goods I could whip out with that mixer!!!
Love,
Soreeta

Oh wedding cupcakes!

Anyone that knows me, pretty much knows that I HEART CUPCAKES! So when I asked to do some wedding cupcakes, of course I jumped at the chance! Why wouldn't I. Alison who is the spunky oldest daughter of my co-worker Susan asked me to do some cupcakes for her wedding instead of a wedding cake. I had made Alison a Hello Kitty cake for her 26th birthday (at least I think it was her 26th birthday). She enjoyed the Hello Kitty cake so much that she asked me do cupcakes for her wedding, I was totally honored. Now I'm not the best cake decorator but I can make some mean cupcakes. What people tend to forget its really about the cake and not necessarily the frosting. Now I have has some great cake and some great frosting in my life time but I have also had the most nastiest cake and the super nastiest frosting. So I thought to myself I can so make a good cake and some pretty damn fantastic frosting too! Not to toot my own horn, but I can since this is my blog, ha! Anyway this is what I created for Alison's wedding. I made chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter buttercream (let me just tell you that peanut butter buttercream was the biz-omb!), vanilla cupcakes with strawberry buttercream (uh the strawberry buttercream was so good it made you want to slap your momma, I'm not kidding. Even though I love my momma dearly and I would never in a million years slap her because if I did you wouldn't be reading this!) and vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream (which the vanilla leaves nothing to the imagination because its VANILLA). I was even invited to attend the wedding which was the most intimate affair that I have ever attend so thanks Alison! I had a blast, and I really enjoyed my Parmesan crusted tilapia!

September means......

Football, football, football. I heart football, whether its college or pro. My nephew is a Junior at Tulsa Union. Its one of those big power house football teams like you see on tv, like the show Friday Night Lights. I have gone to see my nephew a couple of times. I always warn my kids that mommy is a football cheering fool. I get it from my momma! No seriously. We grew up watching the Dallas Cowboys. When I got married my husband and I had to move in with my parents. Not a problem right? Well lets just say they all ruined pro football for me for a long time. I'm just now getting over it! My husband is a big time Steelers fan. We all know Cowboys+Steelers=Bad blood!!!! I have to give my props to my younger nephew Cassius. He also is a football player. Unfortunately for my my son is a basketball player. Not that I don't love basketball, I do. I truly do but we are in football season. Oh but I can't forget about baseball either.....Go Yankees! Oh by the way my momma is the biggest football fan ever! That's I posted her picture 2 times!
